Addition War Instructions
Players: 2
Ages: 6+
Addition War is a math game which is a spin on the classic War game to help with addition skills and is aligned with Common Core Math standards for Grade 1.
1. Distribute cards evenly. Players do not look at their cards
2. Each player takes turns flipping over their top 2 cards. Player with the highest sum takes the hand and places it at the bottom of their card pile
3. If the cards sum match, the players go to “war”
4. Each player sets 3 of their cards face down and 2 cards face up. If the face up card is an action card, player needs to perform the action and pick the next top card and place it face up
5. Player with the highest sum takes all the cards laid out including the war cards and adds them to the bottom of their card pile
6. Player with all the cards wins the game
Use the blank erasable cards to create your own Action cards using wet erase markers.
