Operator Attack is a math game which combines arithmetic and strategy. It gets you adding and subtracting on the fly as well as making sure you can solve equations faster than your opponent. It is aligned with Common Core Math standards for Grade 1.
1. Use cards numbered 1 to 10. Use 10 blank cards to create + operator and 10 blank cards for – operator
2. Deal 7 cards to each player. Remaining cards are placed in draw pile.
3. Player 1 plays a number card, example 8.
4. Player 2 puts down another number card. example 5.
5a. Player 1 gets to complete the equation by playing an operator card(+ or -) and the result of the operation. For a number greater than 10, player can put down 2 cards. example 8 + 5 = 13. Player puts down +, 1 and 3 cards.
5b. Player 1 gets to complete the equation by playing an operator card(+ or -) and the result of the operation. For a number greater than 10, player can put down 2 cards. example 8 – 5 = 3. Player puts down – and 3 cards.
6. If player 1 cannot complete equation, turn passes to player 2. If player 2 is unable to complete as well, discard the cards in a discard pile.
7. At the end of each turn, draw cards from the draw pile to have 7 cards in hand. Player to solve 3 equations wins.
